The power of money

Even literary critic Marcel Reich-Ranicki has determined that it was better to "cry in a taxi than a streetcar." Now provides a study of Sun Yat-Sen University in China's Canton further evidence of the power of money. There, scientists on the question of whether money helps people with mental and physical pain.

But the researchers had their subjects suffer in the same series of experiments: in a ball game, the participants were deliberately excluded in order to engender the feeling of rejection. In another experiment the hands of the subjects were immersed in hot water. The result: Those who had previously counted money felt less pain than the others. Obviously, just the thought of money have reduced the suffering and exclusion in real physical pain, is the conclusion of the study. Conversely, it also works: The idea of losing money, made the subjects more susceptible to pain.
